Bell / Sens Foundation Soirée
Date: Wednesday, February 20, 2008
Location: Hilton Lac-Leamy in Gatineau, Quebec

Since 1992, the Ottawa Senators and the Sens Foundation, through their annual dinner/soirée event, have provided more than $1 million to charities in the region.

On February 13, 2007, Bell and the Sens Foundation hosted Ice & Dice - Viva Las Vegas, the premier fundraising event of the club during the 2006-07 hockey season. The sell-out event was a resounding success with more than 600 guests in attendance and a record $295,000 raised for CHEO, CSSS de Gatineau Foundation and other local health-related charities whose programs focus on improving the quality of life for children and youth.

Las Vegas showgirls greeted the guests as “Cher” and “Elvis” mingled over martinis. Adorned with flashy feather boas, guests got their chance to go “all in” at the roulette and blackjack tables, hosted by the players. Double Juno award winning singer Liberty Silver shone with her renditions of disco classics as guests enjoyed dinner. Guests could cruise the Las Vegas “strip” and visit The Paris Hotel, Caesar’s Palace and The Flamingo to peruse the marvellous auction items. After some heated bidding, lady luck helped many guests walk away as big winners of some fabulous prizes.

Moving forward the event will be known as the Bell / Sens Foundation Soirée. In May 2006 Bell and the Sens Foundation make a commitment to raise $1 million for CHEO over a five-year period. The Bell / Sens Foundation Soirée, is one of the events that will help Bell and the Sens Foundation fulfill the million-dollar goal to CHEO.

The Bell / Sens Foundation Soirée planning committee is hard at work developing a theme for the 2008 event. Funds raised at the upcoming event will support:
CHEO, CSSS de Gatineau Foundation , Monfort Hospital , Queensway Carleton Hospital and Rotary Home.
